    Erbium Laser Resurfacing

    What is Erbium Laser Resurfacing?

Smooth, shiny, blemish free skin without pigmentation is much desired asset especially among women. In the past only topical lotions and potions and home remedies were available to try to achieve this much desired outcome.  This was followed by a number of skin resurfacing peels like acid or herbal peels. But none of these can achieve the degree of results with precision with minimal side effects and minimal complications (when performed by a qualified surgeon) as Laser peels. The most commonly used lasers for skin resurfacing for maximum effects are CO2 and Erbium lasers.

The Erbium laser provides a safer, more accurate and less painful method of restoring a softer, smoother, more youthful-appearing skin. Erbium is a milder laser and produces less dramatic results as compared to the CO2 laser. As it is milder the discomfort, possible complications and recovery time are also lesser. It is preferred in cases where mild to moderate improvement is needed or in case of sensitive skin.

Erbium laser skin resurfacing is a procedure specifically designed to remove superficial and moderately deep lines and wrinkles on the face.  The erbium laser produces less heating or burning of surrounding tissues than other lasers used for resurfacing.  This allows the surgeon to gently and comfortably vaporize the damaged skin cells layer by layer.
